Ontario’s provincial parks are home to some of the most inspiring and beautiful landscapes in the country. Ontario’s provincial parks play a vital role in the protection of our natural environment, but did you know spending time in nature is good for your health too? The "Healthy Parks, Healthy People" program stretches all across Ontario's parks, and more conveniently, through Oakville's Bronte Creek Park. Or travel to Ontario's other beautiful parks that can be viewed here.Tours, activities and workshops will be happening throughout the day no charge!

Wanna experience the Canadian Open like a gold pro? Well, not exactly. Participate in a 5K running or walking, experiencing a PGA TOUR Championship-ready golf course, before finishing alongside the iconic 18th green. The route is flat with no big uphills or downhills, and is run 100% along the cart paths. It is an equally great route for those trying to set their personal best, and for those that want to take a nice stroll in a nice setting. In addition to the 5K run, participants are invited to enjoy live coverage of The British Open Championship on large screens, and relax post-race in the Coors Light Beer Gardens.

Golf Canada and RBC are pleased host the annual 2017 RBC Canadian Open. The 2017 edition will welcome the stars of the PGA Tour from July 24 to July 30.Designed by golf legend Jack Nicklaus, a seven-time runner-up at the event, Glen Abbey is one of Canada’s most famous golf courses.The return to Glen Abbey through 2017 marks the first time since 1998, 1999 and 2000 that the renowned club has hosted three consecutive RBC Canadian Opens. The golf club also hosted back-to-back championships in 2008 and 2009.

TD Songs of Summer is a celebration of the community and the cultural arts that are near and dear to residents. The festival will feature multiple genres of music, delicious food and drink, visual art displays, performance art and crafts.
The festival is a free one-day event from 10 a.m. until 11 p.m. The event will have six stages, with over 40 performances, plus multiple interactive art zones throughout the downtown on Saturday, August 19, 2017. Sponsorship opportunities are available. Featuring the local lineup here:

On Monday, August 7th bring your family and friends to the Emancipation Day Family Picnic at the Oakville Museum at Erchless Estate to celebrate an achievement in Canadian history. The annual picnic kicks off at 1 p.m. and is hosted by the Oakville Museum in partnership with the Canadian Caribbean Association of Halton (CCAH).
The picnic, which commemorates August 1st , 1834 – the day slavery was abolished in Canada and throughout the British Empire – will include a number of engaging activities, performances and music for the entire family.

The Oakville Hospital Foundation is having its annual OTMH Charity Golf Tournament on Monday, August 21 at Glen Abbey Golf Course.
Proceeds will help fund life-saving medical equipment at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital.
On the day, registration opens at 9 a.m. and tee off will be at 11 a.m.
This year’s tournament is all-inclusive – all golfers will receive access to on-course contests and activities, entry into the birdie par bogie contest and two drink tickets in addition to the following: – 18-holes of golf (scramble format) – Breakfast, lunch and dinner – On-course snacks and beverages – Silent auction – Golfer gifts
